Drive Bariatric Bedframe Setup Instructions
- Remove headboard, footboard and rails before rolling the bedframe into
patient’s room to ensure it fits through doorway (if needed). - Roll bedframe head end first into patient’s room.
- Position bedframe where desired. Install headboard, footboard or rails (if
they had been removed). - Install wall guard into holes of the mount underneath the bedframe.
- Plug power cord into outlet.
- Position pendant so staff has access to controller (either left or right side).
- Choose width (39”, 42” or 48”) the bedframe needs to be extended to.
- Push the expansion button mechanism in and pull extension until you reach
the desired width. There are four extensions on each side.
SAFETY CONCERNS
• Do not roll bedframe over any power cord or pendant cord.
• Keep all moving parts free of obstructions.
• Do not use assist rails as handles when moving the bedframe. Instead, use
push/pull bars on each end of the bedframe.
• Ensure casters are locked when bedframe is in use.
• Never exceed the weight limit of the bedframe.
FOR EMERGENCY EVACUATION
• If the doorway is smaller than width of extended bedframe, the width
extension expands and contracts by using the four push buttons on each side
of the expansion rails.
• Push expansion rails in, center the patient on the bedframe, and roll up the
mattress on each side. Release all four brakes and then roll bedframe and
patient out of the room.
